The exhibition “The Earth and Natural Dangers in the Mountains” is being staged at Villa Cameron

For all the month of May, one can visit the exhibition entitled “The Earth and Natural Dangers in the Mountains” at the Safe Mountain Foundation (Fondazione Montagna sicura) which is to be found at Villa Cameron in the hamlet of Villard de la Pallud in Courmayeur. The exhibition was prepared by the University of Turin’s Snow and Earth laboratory, which currently has its seat in Gressoney-La-Trinité, thanks to the Interreg project entitled “On-line actuation of Monte Rosa’s historic-scientific museums”. The regional council committee for education and culturehas taken care of its organization. In 2003, the exhibition was hosted in Vallese (Switzerland) at the Tissières Foundation in Martigny as well as at Gressoney St. Jean. Following that, it was shown in a number of regional schools. It contains a series of panels that introduce earth science using a simple and comprehensible language (Italian and French) and with the support of numerous visual images. Particular attention has been paid to the earth’s features in alpine areas and to problems arising from their management. As from 3rd May, the opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2..30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admittance is free. Please phone the Safe Mountain Foundation on 0165.89.76.02 for bookings and for any further information.
